Buck Canada HR Services Limited ("Buck") has been retained by The Bank of Nova Scotia to provide certain employee benefits processing and recordkeeping services. In connection with these services, Buck makes this Web site available to The Bank of Nova Scotia employees and others eligible for The Bank of Nova Scotia employee benefits. At Buck, we take the issues of privacy very seriously. Visitors to this Web site can be assured that Buck will treat their personal information with the care and attention they have come to expect from a company that provides administrative services.

The personal information that we collect about you includes:

  • Your contact information: name, address, email and phone number
  • Demographics: date of birth, marital status and gender
  • Financial information: social insurance number, bank account numbers, benefits information and salary
  • Your transactions in connection with our services delivery

Transactional Services: You may perform transactions at this Web site utilizing Buck services. In order to protect the security and confidentiality of information provided through these services, Buck requires that users have a browser that supports 128-bit "strong" encryption.

The Bank of Nova Scotia / Plan Administrator: Buck may share your information with The Bank of Nova Scotia or the applicable plan administrator to the extent necessary for the administration of benefits or otherwise in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable benefit plans.

Affiliates and Service Providers: Other subsidiaries or affiliates of Buck, as well as non-affiliated Service Providers that have been mandated to assist Buck in meeting the needs of its customers, may receive personal information from your employer or from another service provider hired by your employer (such as a third-party administrator for a health or other benefit plan). These companies may also collect information from you as a website visitor. This information is disclosed only to respond to your requests and to provide you with information about other products and services offered. The companies to whom we provide information are required by law or contractual requirements to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal information.

Other Third parties: Buck does not transmit any personal information collected through its Web site to any third-party for marketing purposes.

Legal Issues: From time to time, we may be required to provide personal information in response to a court order, subpoena, government investigation, or any other legal or regulatory obligations. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we, in good faith, believe to be unlawful.
